This photo is probably the one I took most similar to Lauren Greenfield's photos. This really depicts just about everything she was trying to say in her photos from Girl Culture, as well as what I have been trying to say in this blog. The scale represents a huge problem of weight in our culture, mainly the influences from things like celebrities on the magazines on the floor. Mainly from the media, girls are growing into believe they have to look and act a certain way.

  1. I feel the first and third pictures are the most powerful. They truly encompass the disturbing ideas of "girl culture" in today's society. I loved that in the first image there were items strewn about the floor. I feel that it really emphasized the craziness of the girl's thoughts about life. I really enjoyed the third image as well because it is raw, uncut life. All of those magazine pages are actually influencing a young girl's life.
